Chateau Filhot is run by Gabrielle Vaucelles. This is a 2nd Cru Classe property who’s history dates back to 1630. It has family lineage connecting it to the famous Lur-Saluces family of famed Chateau D’Yquem. It is a tremendous property consisting of 350 hectares (700 Acres) with 62 hectares of vines.
The Chateau’s style is known for their high amount of Sauvignon Blanc % in the blend, about 36%, which gives the wine a great freshness with vibrant acidity. 2009 was a great year for the botrytis levels that causes the sweetness in Sauternes.
