Domaine Pique-Basse is owned by rising superstar winemaker Olivier Tropet. It is located in the town of Roaix, a Cotes du Rhone-Villages, just northeast of Rasteau. There are only about 5 wine-makers in this Village; most people use the local cave-cooperative. Olivier has about 35 hectares which he inherited from his grandparents, but only bottles about 5 hectares himself.
As he grows his winery, he will bottle more. Most of his vines are planted in a highly elevated slope called the Massif Ventabren to the north of town. His works bio-dynamically and his vineyards are organic.
