Abadia de San Quirce was founded in 1998 by a group of local investors and a wine-maker. They own 21 hectares of vineyards and control another 80 in the best/oldest parts of the region. Their vines range from 15-100 years old, with some pre-phyloxera. They have 3 different soil types that help them vary their styles-sandy, limestone, and clay. The Crianza is aged in barrels from 12-15 months while the Reserva stays 16-18 months in barrel.
