Domaine de Loye is a 15 hectare estate run by Valentin Moindrot, who recently took over from his father Jean-Bernard, who started the domaine in 1970. The domaine has 11 hectares planted with Sauvignon Blanc, and the other 4 are Pinot Noir for red and rose wine. Valentin believes that “A vine in good health is an assurance of quality wine”.
Annual production is about 110,000 bottles. The clay/limestone soil which the vines are planted in contribute to the classic citrus fruits (grapefruit and lemon) and minerality which show off this wine, making it a great alternative to it’s more famous and expensive neighbor, Sancerre.
